What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School Diploma or GED, Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Nursing students: BLS Certification required prior to hire
Nice to Have
Graduate of an approved Program for Nursing Assistants, Previous hospital training, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification, Six months of experience in an acute care hospital setting
What You'll Do.
Assist nursing caregivers
Promote patient comfort
Carry out nursing orders
Transport patients by wheelchair
Transport patients by bed
Transport patients by stretcher
Conduct phlebotomy duties
Attend to patient needs
Attend to family needs
Assist patients with dressing
Assist patients with bathing
Assist patients with hygiene
Report pertinent information to nursing staff
Assist patients with tray set up
Assist patients with feeding
Restock supplies daily
Order supplies from Central Supply
Document care provided in medical record
Provide RNs/LPNs with intake/output data
Provide RNs/LPNs with vital signs
Provide RNs/LPNs with blood glucose results
Note changes from prior measurement
Communicate changes from prior measurement
Respond to call lights within five minutes
Report patient needs to an RN/LPN immediately
Assist in removal of equipment
Prepare room for cleaning
