Full Job Description
## Shift and status Full time, 7:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., Every other weekend. ## Job Summary This position is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients, specimens, and medication, throughout the hospital as assigned. ## ## Essential Functions * Transport patients safely, timely, and efficiently. This may include assisting with lifting the patients on and off beds and moving patients throughout the hospital. * Requires the ability to recognize if the patient is experiencing stress or other issues during transport and immediately seeks assistance. * Monitors O2, IV’s, catheters, etc. and alert appropriate personal with problems 100% of the time. * Informs supervisor/dispatcher of all delays within 10 minutes. * Maintains transport equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. Returns all equipment to the appropriate location. * Maintains and completes all departmental records, completes proper handoff before removing patient from dept/unit. Check all patients ID bands and complete two patient identifiers prior to transportation. * Adheres to all hospital policies and procedures. * Understands and demonstrate safe lifting and transport techniques. * Knows and practices universal precautions as appropriate. * Requires demonstrated communication skills to interact with courtesy, tact, empathy, and professionalism in daily interactions with patient, their families, clinical licensed and non-licensed staff, physicians, and management. * Ability to understand and follow direction, ability to comply with HIPAA confidentiality requirements. * May be responsible for transporting specimens, oxygen, stretchers, and other items as assigned. * Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis. * Performs other duties as assigned. ## Range of Pay * Between $16.49 and $20.21, based on experience. ## Qualifications Required *
