The Ancillary Access Representative (AAR) is a fully cross-functional level and role and performs all Patient Access functions. Performs all outpatient and inpatient registration functions. Ensures that patients meet financial requirements. Provides general information to hospital users, patients and families. Communicates effectively to service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service. Provides excellent patient focused customer service. Assists with scheduling and activates orders as applicable. The Ancillary Access Representative will typically be located in Laboratory and Radiology Registration areas, but will be able to assist in all areas, including: • Check-In Desk • Emergency Department Registration • Outpatient Registration • Inpatient & Observation Registration _Minimum Requirements_ * High school diploma or equivalent. * Previous experience as a Patient Access Representative or Patient Access Scheduling Representative. * Clear and concise communication skills required in order to effectively interview patients/families and to exchange information with hospital staff members, physicians, and third party payors. * Concise written communication and keyboarding skills required. * Detail oriented. * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information, business account information, financial and legal documents. *
