Must Have
High School diploma or GED, Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program, Valid phlebotomy certification, Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience, Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collection techniques, Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy, Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures, Basic computer skills
Nice to Have
Associate's degree in a related science field, Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, Experience in a high-volume laboratory setting, Additional certifications in phlebotomy
What You'll Do.
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections
Identify patients and verify test orders
Prepare patients for specimen collection
Label specimens accurately
Process and prepare specimens for transport
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Adhere to safety and infection control protocols
Document services provided
Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff
