Must Have
High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred (for Youth Programs), Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of related industry experience with appropriate industry-recognized certification(s) in the teaching area, or closely-related field (for Professional & Continuing Education Programs), Demonstrated evidence of effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, and technology skills, Evidence of a commitment to teaching, mentorship, educational excellence, and learner success, Ability to develop and deliver engaging instructional experiences for diverse learner populations, which may include youth learners, adult professionals, or mixed-experience audiences, Positions involving minors require successful completion of a criminal background investigation conducted by the University, Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship
Nice to Have
Graduate or terminal degree in the teaching area(s) or closely related field plus significant industry, professional, leadership, creative, technical, or executive-level experience relevant to the instructional discipline, Previous teaching, training, facilitation, mentoring, or curriculum development experience with youth and/or adult learners, Demonstrated commitment to active learning, applied instruction, innovative teaching methodologies, and inclusive educational practices, Competency with learning management systems and web-based instructional platforms, including experience supporting in-person, hybrid, and/or online learning environments, Experience integrating workforce readiness, career exploration, interdisciplinary learning, or industry applications into instructional delivery
What You'll Do.
Confer with Workforce Development staff to discuss program goals
Develop course objectives and deliver a curriculum that utilizes innovative classroom techniques and methodologies to offer students challenging learning opportunities
Engage students in learning activities throughout the entirety of the course to enhance their learning and skill development
Complete skill and project assessments to highlight successful completion of course
Monitor student success and address inadequate progress with applicable individuals
Network with college and community resources to include creative active-learning experiences
Participate in program development meetings and coordinate with instructional designer to develop web-based content
Improve program delivery through continuous improvement of course(s)
