Full Job Description

The Paralegal will work in the Litigation, Arbitration, and Employment (LAE) practice group based in our Miami office to provide support to lawyers during the entire litigation process from the initial information-gathering stage through discovery and trial, and ending with careful archival of case material. Subject to the supervision of the lawyer(s) responsible for the matter, daily responsibilities include maintaining correspondence and discovery; supporting hearings, trials, and administrative proceedings, cite checking briefs, and assisting with settlements. The paralegal will play a significant role in the retrieval, review, and production of documents, both incoming and outgoing. In addition, this role will provide support for all trials and/or arbitrations, working in conjunction with IT and Advanced Client Data Solutions to ensure all security requirements are followed and best practices are consistently applied. This role has a billing requirement of 1,650 hours per evaluation year. **The position 's primary responsibilities will include: ** * Prepare and finalize pleadings in accordance with applicable state and Federal rules for filing with court; * Assist with document retrieval, review, organization, and production; * Maintain case pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and research for large-volume cases; * Cite-check and edit legal documents; * Maintain a database of client advisories; * Maintain document, transcript, and work product databases; * Conduct legal research and write concise memoranda to summarize results; * Organize and prepare exhibit lists and/or privilege logs; * Coordinate with the Advanced Client Data Solutions team on initial case consultation potentially monitoring preservation, collection, processing, and production of client data; * Coordinate work with outside document/litigation vendors, including adherence to strict deadlines; * Ensure all vendors engaged comply with the firm’s security protocol, the firm’s bidding process, a
