What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Paralegal certification, Proficiency in commercial contract preparation and review
Nice to Have
1-3 years of Paralegal experience in a law office, corporate legal department or other transactional practice, Proficiency with complex business concepts, Comfortable operating in property management systems
What You'll Do.
supporting corporate and property operations teams
interpretation and enforcement of legal documents
maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
serving as a liaison between property staff and the corporate office
communicating and implementing legal requirements and company policies
training and guiding property staff through complex legal matters
elevating issues for resolution by Staff Attorneys
the Vice President of Legal Affairs
the General Counsel and/or outside attorneys
responding to requests for assistance from property staff
interpreting and explaining commercial contracts
drafting and revising housing agreements and other relevant real estate documents
identifying and responding to resident complaints
vendor disputes and regulatory matters
supporting property operations staff with legal- and policy-related situations
supporting outside counsel on litigation matters
coordinating with inside and outside counsel on entity and asset acquisitions
identifying and addressing reporting and compliance issues
monitoring compliance with vendor insurance requirements
monitoring and assisting in resolution of insurance claims
