The Ridge School of Montgomery County is a special education day school for students in grades 6 through 12 with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and other behavioral health impairments. We provide educational, clinical, and behavioral services to students. As a Paraeducator, you will: • Under the supervision of the classroom teacher, provides individual instruction to the assigned student with the goal of increasing the student’s overall school performance • Provides support to assigned student during class activities • Supports assigned student in therapy sessions • Facilitates student progress toward academic and social-emotional goals • Observes and records data on the student’s behavior in collaboration with the therapeutic team • Implements accommodations and supports established by the student’s IEP • Implements therapeutic measures as directed by IEP goals • Participates in the school's interdisciplinary team meetings, workshops, and other selected school staff meetings • Performs other duties as assigned by the teacher when the designated student is absent Qualifications Include: • High School Diploma or GED required. • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology or other related discipline preferred. • Minimum of one year work experience with special needs students is required (i.e., camp counselor, student care work, college practicum experiences) • Familiarity with student and/or adolescent development is required • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Work Schedule: * **Employment Type:** Ful
