What You'll Do.

May help set up the operating room, prepare and transport patients for surgery, adjust lights and equipment, pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons and surgeons' assistants, hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments. May provide day-to-day guidance/direction to more junior staff. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Participates in time out procedures. -Attainment of extra supplies and equipment as needed. -Sets up equipment independently. -Participates as an active member of the Patient Care Team. -Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs. -Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure. -Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room. _**Qualifications**_ Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certified Surgical Technologist [CST] - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred Medical Technician [New Hampshire License] - New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy preferred Experience Experience at time of hire: Three (3) years of diversified
