Must Have
Demonstrated experience administering Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases in large‑scale enterprise environments supporting both production and non‑production systems., hands‑on experience with Oracle databases on‑premises and in the cloud, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Exadata services such as RAC, Oracle Data Guard, and Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)., Proven experience administering AWS RDS, particularly PostgreSQL, including backup, restore, performance tuning, and availability management., Extensive experience in database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, monitoring, and lifecycle management for enterprise database platforms., Solid experience investigating and resolving database performance, availability, and security incidents, acting as a senior or third‑level support escalation point., skills in database automation and scripting, including Linux and Windows scripting, PL/SQL, and T‑SQL to support operational efficiency., Hands‑on experience performing database backups, restores, refreshes, re‑organisations, data extracts, and supporting high availability and disaster recovery solutions., Practical experience using enterprise database tools, including Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, Quest TOAD, Oracle SQL Developer, and Microsoft tools such as SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS., Demonstrated experience supporting change and release management, including participation in on‑call rosters and after‑hours operational support where required., Experience raising and managing vendor support requests with Oracle and Microsoft and working through complex technical resolution processes., Ability to provide technical advice, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to database team members and contribute to the development of operational procedures, standards, and policies., Experience working across both public and private sector environments is highly desirable, particularly in complex, highly governed enterprise settings.
