We are looking for an optical engineer with experience across a broad spectrum of optical systems and technologies. The candidate is expected to have a strong background using automation and optical analysis tools. The ideal candidate will have experience across the complete product life cycle: concept, research, development, and new product introduction. In addition, customer interaction, technology roadmap development, and standards body activities will be required. _**Duties and Responsibilities:**_ * Provide technical leadership to specify, model/simulate, test, and verify optical systems required as part of the optical test and measurement instrument portfolio. * Present test data, analysis, and recommendations to other R&D teams for discussion and feedback. * Explore the applicability of new technologies, provide concepts, and contribute to new business development, including product technology life cycle management. * Develop technology roadmaps in the context of the business roadmap. * Work with other optical designers in the R&D groups to establish efficiencies through tool selection/con
