Must Have
High School diploma or equivalent, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Basic Life Support (BLS), 2 years of relevant experience
Nice to Have
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Basic Life Support (BLS), intermediate knowledge of ocular anatomy, function, and motility, ability to perform the appropriate patient workup using EMR telehealth platform, competency in all ophthalmic subspecialty patient workups, prepares patients for intravitreal injections, ability to function as an ophthalmic scribe, Proficient in Microsoft Office

Basic review of systems
Ocular surface assessment
Review systemic and ocular medications
Eye drop administration
Intraocular pressure such as Goldman
Insertion and removal of hard & soft contact lenses
Visual acuity at distance and near
Confrontational fields
Automated & manual perimetry
Humphrey visual fields
Virtual Reality (VR) visual fields
Amsler Grid visual fields
Provides support to providers which includes documentation in patient charts as required and directed for patient care
Provides patient-centric care
Ensures all equipment is calibrated and instrumentation is in proper working order
Organizes and stocks rooms for daily clinical activities
Completes IVI (intravitreal injection) prep for patients
Facilitates motility exams
Supports Virtual Care encounters and exams
Performs imaging including but not limited to fundus photos
Assists with training and onboarding clinical support staff
Acts as a super-user for technology implementations
and training initiatives
Acts as preceptor and trainer for team members
Serves as a lead technician providing oversight to clinical teams when assigned
