The Ophthalmic Technician 2 (OT2) is proficient in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care. This position performs appropriate clinical testing in compliance with department standards and documents in the EMR system. **JOB FUNCTIONS** **** Performs and documents the following items in the electronic medical record. * Reason for visit * Chief complaint * History of present illness * Basic review of systems * Review systemic and ocular medications * Record allergies * Pharmacy information * Family, social, medical, and ocular history * Visual acuity at distance and near * Lensometry * Manual refraction * Confrontational fields * Humphrey visual fields * Virtual Reality (VR) visual fields * Amsler Grid visual fields * Tangent screen visual fields * Basic ocular motility * Pupillary evaluation * Ocular surface assessment * Eye drop administration * Pachymetry * Color vision test * Stereopsis test * Sensorimotor exam * Automated & manual perimetry * Insertion and removal of hard & soft contact lenses * Intraocular pressure such as Goldman, Tono-Pen, and I-Care * Provides support to providers which includes documentation in patient charts as required and directed for patient care. * Provides patient-centric care. * Complies with regulations and maintains patient confidentiality. * Follows best practices of patient safety, hand hygiene, and infection control. * Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personne
