ABOUT THE ROLE As an Operations Engineer at Creem, you'll apply your engineering expertise to build the internal systems that power our financial infrastructure day to day. Think of this as a product engineer role with a focus on operations, you'll take plans from our compliance and operations leads and turn them into robust, scalable systems that the team relies on. You'll build the tooling behind every critical operational workflow at Creem: how we verify merchants, how we score risk, how we move money, how we detect fraud, and how we keep our processes auditable. Your work transforms manual operational toil into structured, automated systems that scale with the business. You'll partner closely with the operations and compliance teams, translating their domain expertise into shipped systems. They define what needs to happen and why; you define how it gets built and ship it. Strong opinions on implementation are welcome and expected. You'll develop with a relentless focus on delivering functionality that drives meaningful operational outcomes. Your decision-making will be informed by direct collaboration with the people running these processes every day, ensuring the systems you build actually solve the problems they were built for. This position carries the same ownership ethos we hold across Creem: you own the systems you build end-to-end. You have the latitude to leverage AI automation to amplify your impact, building and orchestrating agents that extend your capabilities so you can focus on the highest-value engineering work. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Compliance Engineering: Build the structured systems that power our KYB, KYC and AML reviews, with the data models, audit trails and review interfaces the operations team uses daily. - Risk Scoring: Implement the payment-side risk scoring system, the data pipeline, the rules engine and the integration into authorization decisions. - Payouts Engineering: Build and maintain the payouts stack, identity verification, failed pa
