What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), 8+ years’ experience supporting or operating complex, mission‑critical systems, 5+ years in service operations, service delivery, or operational leadership roles, Experience leading teams responsible for independent programs in a matrix environment, working knowledge of ITIL practices, particularly Incident, Problem, and Change Management, Proven ability to coordinate delivery across engineering, infrastructure, operations, and vendors, Ability to understand and evaluate technical delivery and operational impacts without acting as a hands‑on engineer
Nice to Have
Experience delivering cloud‑based or infrastructure‑focused initiatives (e. g. , AWS, Azure), Experience in transit, payments, or regulated, high‑availability environments, Exposure to compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS or ISO 27001, Experience operating within large, matrixed or global service organizations
What You'll Do.
Own operational execution for assigned program(s)
Maintain consistent oversight of operational performance
Continuously monitor program health
Act as the primary escalation point
Lead and coach a small team of OSDMs
Set clear expectations for execution quality
Ensure standard operational processes
Provide guidance and support to OSDMs
Provide operational direction to IT Project Managers
Coordinate execution across in-flight development
Ensure delivery sequencing
Collaborate with Architects
Track execution progress and drive resolution
Maintain visibility across incidents and service degradation
Provide direction and coordination when incidents
Guide operational decision-making during incidents
Ensure corrective actions are identified
Partner with IT Project Managers and Release Managers
Validate readiness across support models
Coordinate stabilization activities following releases
Accountable for execution-level operational and delivery metrics
Prepare and review weekly and monthly operational reporting
Ensure operational and delivery documentation
Continuously assess execution health
Lead operational discussions and forums

Maintain effective working relationships with customer

Team & Collaboration
Lead and coach a small team of OSDMs; Provide operational direction to IT Project Managers, Release Managers, and technical services teams; Collaborate with Architects, Systems Analysts, QA, infrastructure, and engineering teams; Partner with IT Project Managers and Release Managers; builds alignment across run and change teams
