Must Have
Master’s degree in Library Science or equivalent combination of education and experience, Five years of related experience
Nice to Have
Demonstrated experience with modern e-Learning authoring and multimedia production tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, H5P, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, Vyond, or equivalent tools, Experience with collaborating effectively with stakeholders such as faculty, staff, students, and/or administrators, Demonstrated experience successfully implementing a systematic instructional design strategy in an academic or library context, or an advanced degree in Instructional Design, Evidence of engagement with accessibility standards, including web accessibility standards (WCAG) and ADA requirements in educational contexts, Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others, Knowledge of academic library functions, Ability to communicate with all levels of customers and employees, Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage time effectively
What You'll Do.
Lead the strategic development of digital learning initiatives
Oversee the design and assessment of tutorials
and other digital learning objects
Collaborate with librarians and subject matter experts to produce high-quality online instruction
Ensure digital learning environments reflect evidence-based pedagogy and meet accessibility standards
Contribute to planning
and program development
Coordinate the University Libraries’ tutorial program and online learning initiatives
and maintain multimedia instructional content
Maintain knowledge of emerging trends in online learning
Ensure digital learning meets accessibility standards and evidence based-pedagogical best practices
Collaborate with regional and local locations on access of Library collections and improving virtual learning for distance learners
Participate in unit meetings and interdepartmental activities
Collaborate with colleagues on design
and promotion of library programs
Coordinate the improvement of the Libraries’ online learning instruction
Actively engage and support Library and TAMU initiatives
Participate in scholarly activities and professional service
Serve on campus and library committees
Engage with campus units to advocate for Library presence in online learning

This position guides the growth of the Libraries’ online learning portfolio by overseeing the design and assessment of tutorials, modules, and other digital learning objects created with tools such as Canvas, Articulate 360, and multimedia platforms. The Online Learning Librarian collaborates with librarians and subject matter experts to produce high‑quality online instruction on information literacy, library resources, and library services. The role ensures that all digital learning environments reflect evidence‑based pedagogy and meet accessibility standards. Working closely with the Director of Experiential Learning and Engagement and colleagues across the Libraries, the Online Learning Librarian contributes to planning, resource allocation, and program development.
