**Location:** Avera Cancer Institute-Sioux Falls **Worker Type:** Regular **Work Shift:** Day Shift (United States of America) **Pay Range:** _The pay range for this position is listed below. Work where you matter.** **A Brief Overview** Responsible to identify, abstract and maintain records of cancer patients within the guidelines and requirements of applicable state laws and accreditation bodies in order to provide timely and accurate statistics as required to maintain accreditation and fulfill quality initiatives and administration requests. **What you will do ** * Reviews source documents/records to determine reportability of diseases as determined by state law, accreditation bodies, and/or the organization. * Abstracts and analyzes patient information as directed in the Standards for Oncology Registry Entry (STORE) manual and records pertinent information from source documents in a text format to support all coded data items. * Obtains, enters, and codes follow-up information to obtain end results, quality of survival, and length of survival. * Interprets incoming information and updates registry cases as necessary to maintain accurate, complete information and current follow-up information. * Assists, upon request, with the multidisciplinary cancer case conferences by gathering records for cases being discussed, making necessary personnel contacts, and taking notes. * Provides support to clinical and administrative leadership for the organization’s professional advisory boards (PABs) and program leadership councils (PLCs). **Essential Qualifications** The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
