Must Have
Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards required
Nice to Have
California Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) preferred, Completion of Surgical Scrub Technician program preferred, Two (2) year experience as a Scrub Technician in comparable job setting within the last 5 years preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
What You'll Do.
assists in patient care activities
maintains department stock
performs surgical technician duties in the scrub role
Scrubs for cesarean section surgical procedures
Assists with vaginal deliveries and or surgical repair of episiotomies
Identifies patient needs/physician preferences for surgical supplies/equipment/instruments
Performs shift specific assignments according to the OB Tech responsibility sheet
Maintains the principles of aseptic technique in preparing for vaginal/surgical deliveries
Performs technical skills in accordance with policy and procedure
Inventories and stocks department supplies and equipment
Coordinates with Surgical Sterile Processing Department and Materials Management to order and distribute supplies and reconcile patient charges
Contributes to cost effective patient care by monitoring use of time
Complies with safety policies and procedures in order to provide a safe environment for employees
Demonstrates necessary flexibility in regards to changes in Hospital or Department activities
Completes C-Section charges in the computer correctly and within department guidelines
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit
Actively participates in achieving departmental goals

Should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit. Performs other duties as assigned. * Scrubs for cesarean section surgical procedures.
