Completion of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or student nurses meeting the listing requirements of the DFS Nurse Aide Registry, Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide, Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support HealthCare Provider certification
What You'll Do.
Performs personal care for the comfort and well-being of the patient
Serves and collects food trays
Feeds patients and records dietary intake
water and nourishments
Measures and records intake and output
Assists the patient with bedpan
bowel and bladder training
Records daily bowel function
Applies condom catheters
Collects and tests specimens (urine
Administers cleansing
fleet and/or retention enema
Provides perineal and catheter care
Empties drainage device from body cavities/wounds and records
Maintains gastric suction
Assists with simple non-sterile dressing changes
application and removal of ace bandages
sequential compression device
pelvic and cervical traction
Makes occupied and unoccupied beds
Performs pm care to promote patient comfort
Takes and records temperature
Obtains and records patient weight and height
Turns and positions patients
Does not initiate but participates in the application and removal of restraint devices as directed by the Registered Nurse or Licensed Care Provider
Assists in monitoring the patient in restraints for safety
nutrition and elimination
Assists with postmortem care
Provides hand-off communication appropriate to job duties
Reports and documents information related to assigned duties
Assists with maintaining documentation according to established policies and procedures
Assists patients with transfers to bed
Assists with Range of Motion exercises
Initiates or participates in CPR
Provides continuous observation of a patient or patients when assigned to serve in this capacity
Provides continuous observation for assigned patients on suicide precautions or patients in behavior management restraints
Provides instructions to patients and family members according to approved protocols and/or the plan of care as delegated by and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse
Documents spoken or observed response
Performs fingerstick for blood glucose monitoring upon competency verification
Retrieves blood products (upon competency verification)

**Department:** 34119 Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - NCBH Nursing Float Pool **Status:** Full time **Benefits Eligible:** Yes **Hou****rs Per Week:** 36 **Schedule Details/Additional Information:** One facility float staff. 7pm-7am **Pay Range** $19.80 - $29.70 **Essential Functions:** Performs personal care for the comfort and well-being of the patient; includes bed bath, tub bath, shower, sitz bath, mouth care, skin care, hair care and nail care. Serves and collects food trays. Feeds patients and records dietary intake. * Distributes ice, water and nourishments. Measures and records intake and output. * Assists the patient with bedpan, urinal, bedside commode, bowel and bladder training. * Records daily bowel function. Applies condom catheters. * Collects and tests specimens (urine, feces, sputum). * Administers cleansing, fleet and/or retention enema. * Provides perineal and catheter care. * Empties drainage device from body cavities/wounds and records. * Maintains gastric suction. * Assists with simple non-sterile dressing changes, application and removal of ace bandages, sequential compression device, heat application, pelvic and cervical traction, application. * Makes occupied and unoccupied beds. * Performs pm care to promote patient comfort. * Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure. * Obtains and records patient weight and height. * Turns and positions patients. * Does not initiate but participates in the application and removal of restraint devices as directed by the Registered Nurse or Licensed Care Provider Assists in monitoring the patient in restraints for safety, circulation, hydration, nutrition and elimination. * Assists with postmortem care. * Provides hand-off communication appropriate to job duties. * Reports and documents information related to assigned duties. * Assists with maintaining documentation according to established policies and procedures. * Assists patients with transfers to bed, wheelchair stretcher.
