Provide unofficial transcripts with application, if possible.**_ **About the unit** A 39 bed unit; Critical Care Step Down is committed to providing high quality patient and family centered care for patient populations consisting of various medical conditions including pulmonary, cardiac and neurological disorders, post-operative care for the surgical patient who requires a higher level of nursing care. CCSU also cares for ventilated tracheostomy patients. All unit staff attends both hospital and nursing orientation and receives unit-specific orientation. Unit and core competencies are completed during the orientation process. It is also home to the Cotton Family Birth Center which has received the Baby Friendly designation by Baby-Friendly USA. **Scope of work** Under supervision of a Nurse and following hospital policies and procedures, performs various nursing care tasks and treatments on assigned patients. Performs routine bedside nursing activities including bathing and personal grooming of patients; ambulating, moving and turning patients; assisting patients with bedpans or urinary devices; making patient beds and caring for personal property. Assists in performing additional nursing procedures such as catheterizations, suctioning, irrigating colostomies, applying restraints, giving enemas, douches and sitz baths or pericare. **Qualification
