## **About the unit** 4 North is a 33-bed unit at Butterworth Hospital specializing in orthopedic, trauma and burn care. Our team works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary group of professionals including nursing, physicians, APPs, rehab therapists, and care managers to provide high quality, comprehensive care to our patients. Common diagnoses for our patient population include polytrauma, gunshot wounds, falls, motor vehicle accidents, burns, and orthopedic complications as a result of a traumatic injury. It is the flagship hospital for Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals. **Scope of work** Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients.
