What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Master’s Degree in Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (NP) Adult or Primary Care stream, Current Certificate of Competence with College of Nurses of Ontario, Three to five years nursing experience in an acute treatment centre
Nice to Have
neurosurgery/ spine/ oncology/ neuro-interventional/ neurology patient familiarity with spinal and neurosurgical conditions, diseases or disorders, Canadian Nurses Association certification in Neuroscience Nursing, Experience in nursing research methodology, Eligible for or already holding cross-appointment to an academic institution, Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)

Utilize theoretical knowledge base
Demonstrate advanced clinical competence
Manage patients with neurosurgical conditions
Manage patients with orthopedic conditions
Manage patients with neuro-oncological spinal conditions
Collect and interpret patient health data
Determine medical diagnosis
Treat complex patient responses
Perform quality improvement
Perform administrative responsibilities
Participate in policy and procedure
Perform research activities
Deliver education programs
Coordinate education programs
Participate in education programs
Develop and strengthen profession
Serve as a consultant

Team & Collaboration
Integral member of the clinical team; Provide support to nursing staff; Provide guidance to nursing staff; Facilitate knowledge development in nursing staff; Serve as a consultant to groups within professional community; Serve as a consultant to other hospital/agencies
