Must Have
Master's Degree in Nursing, Masters in Physician Assistant studies, State of Michigan Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license, AHA/ARC BLS certification
Nice to Have
1 to 3 years’ experience as a Palliative Care Advanced Practice Provider in a clinical setting
What You'll Do.
Assess physical and psychosocial status
Recognize deviations from normal
Formulate treatment plans
Write prescriptions for medication
Determine patient eligibility for clinical trials
Request written consultation from physicians
Interpret and evaluate findings of studies/tests
Relay patient care information to physician
Administer therapeutic measures
Obtain specimens as prescribed
Evaluate quality of care
Recommend changes for improvement
Initiate actions for therapeutic plans
Dictate follow-up letters
Provide preventive health services
Dictate or write patient history
Interact with program assistants and data managers
Assist in management of family dynamics

Working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary palliative care team—and in partnership with supervising physicians—the APP delivers high-quality, patient- and family-centered care focused on goals of care discussions, care coordination, and advanced care planning.
