Must Have
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in New Jersey, BLS certification
Nice to Have
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree, 2 years of experience in Oncology, Breast Health, or Surgical experience, Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Holds Breast Navigator Certification or OCN Certification, Successful completion of Breast Patient Navigator certificate as administered by the National Consortium of Breast Centers within 6 months of hire
What You'll Do.
Provide education for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients
Participates in evaluation and development of patient education materials
Uses nursing process to provide comprehensive nursing care
Provides teaching for patients to prepare them for surgery
Ensures that the patient attends their scheduled procedures
Recognize and prevent complications to reduce hospitalization
Provides triage for all post biopsy and surgical breast center patients
Coordinate care for hospital discharged patients
Interact with numerous breast oncology patients
Review daily schedules for new schedule meet and greets
Provide collaborative coordination to referring providers
Act as liaison with clinical and administrative staff
Review physicians Inbox sections as needed
Obtain records from other facilities
Follow up on pathology results
Assist with scheduling radiology tests
Follow long term DCIS ensuring they attend all recommended follow up appointments
Assist in various quality improvement projects
