Provides training on the USQ process
Recommends changes to the USQD procedure
Assists in obtaining DOE approval for positive USQDs
Maintains a log of USQD and USQD Screens

Full Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Nuclear Safety Analyst, USQDs to join our team supporting the Oak Ridge National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Responsibilities - Supports the execution of Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) guiding principles, core functions, and the Isotek Safety Culture. - Implements and maintains compliance with the Unreviewed Safety Question (USQ) Program as required by 10 CFR 830 Subpart B. - Reviews drafts of work packages, procedures, facility modifications, and other documents for impacts to the safety basis and integration of the SA into facility activities. - Identifies and escalates potential USQ issues to facility management. - Attends Plan of the Day/Plan of the Week meetings, work planning sessions, walkdowns, and Data Review Committee meetings as necessary in support of facility operations. - Develops and peer reviews USQ Determinations (USQDs), USQD Screenings, and provides training on the USQ process while also recommending changes to the USQD procedure. - Assists in obtaining DOE approval for positive USQDs. - Maintains a log of USQD and USQD Screens and maintains USQD training media. - Develops annual USQD report for submittal to DOE. Requirements - Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related science with a minimum of 2 years’ job-related experience, of which 1 year is nuclear, OR 4 years job-related nuclear experience. - Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work. - Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed. - Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office. - Strong communication, verbal and written skills. - Ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory issues. - Ability to work independently. - Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility
