Must Have

High School diploma or equivalent, Graduate of Nuclear Medicine Technology accredited program, NMTCB or ARRT-N registered, Valid State of Florida License as Nuclear Medicine Technologist, CPR and BLS certification required

Nice to Have

One (1) year of relevant experience, New graduates from accredited schools considered

What You'll Do.

Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures

Operate diagnostic imaging equipment

Administer radiopharmaceuticals and medications

Maintain quality control

Ensure radiation protection

Obtain and examine Nuclear Medicine scan orders

Ensure orders are appropriate

Notify supervisor of discrepancies

Contact physician's office for correct orders

Identify patient service requirements

Establish patient rapport

Obtain necessary consents

Provide patient education

Perform specialized tasks

Operate Nuclear Medicine scanners

Follow radiation safety procedures

Integrate diagnostic results

Adapt exam as necessary

Maintain high quality standards

Perform Nuclear Medicine scans

Assist positioning patients

Use immobilization equipment

Use protective equipment

Maintain aseptic technique

Follow universal precaution guidelines

Assist radiologist with imaging procedures

Assist with starting IVs

Assist with injecting contrast

Assist radiologist with interventional procedures

Evaluate scan technical quality

Collate processed images

Film/transmit to PACS

Assist with clerical functions

Charge procedures and supplies

Dispense radiopharmaceuticals orally

Load and operate power injectors

Maintain accurate patient records

Provide orientation and training

Train new technologists

Gain patient cooperation

Answer patient questions

Provide education to student technologists

Apply age-specific care needs

Perform basic nursing functions

Assist with emesis basins

Assume care for patient needs

Initiate life support measures

Assist in Code Blue procedure

Keep work area sanitary

Provide on call coverage

Report unusual findings
