Full Job Description
Own and elevate the core network infrastructure that powers Gallup’s global operations. As a network engineer at Gallup, you’ll serve as a cornerstone of our enterprise network, owning core switching infrastructure, driving high availability, and advancing secure, modern connectivity across our organization. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on Cisco expert who thrives on technical depth, operational excellence and continuous improvement. What You’ll Do Own day-to-day management, configuration and optimization of Cisco core and distribution-layer switches across Gallup’s enterprise environment Design and implement Layer 2 and Layer 3 solutions, including VLAN segmentation, 802.1Q trunking, STP/RSTP, Port Channels and first-hop redundancy protocols such as HSRP and VRRP Engineer resilient, high-availability network architectures that minimize downtime and support evolving business needs Troubleshoot complex networking issues, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective solutions with minimal disruption Lead capacity planning, architecture design documentation and disaster recovery strategies to ensure long-term scalability and reliability Strengthen network security posture by implementing access control policies, segmentation strategies and Zero Trust-aligned architectures Partner with cross-functional IT teams, vendors and stakeholders to resolve infrastructure challenges and drive enterprise-wide improvements Maintain comprehensive network documentation, diagrams and operational runbooks Contribute to modernization efforts, including automation, hybrid cloud connectivity and software-defined networking initiatives What Makes You Stand Out Enterprise infrastructure authority: You bring deep technical expertise and confidently make complex core switching decisions.
