What They're Looking For.
Must Have
5+ years of professional experience as a Network Engineer, Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent professional experience), Expert-level command of Cisco NX-OS/IOS, Experience with VLAN segmentation, Experience with routing protocols, Experience with firewall management, Deep experience with VMware (ESXi, vCenter), Proficiency in managing storage via iSCSI, Proficiency in managing storage via Fibre Channel, Proficiency in managing storage via NFS, Proven ability to work in a 24/7/365 mission-critical environment, Comfortable with on-call rotations, Comfortable with emergency response, Deep hands-on experience with Cisco IOS, Deep hands-on experience with Cisco NX-OS, Deep hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst, Deep hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus platforms, Understanding of how industrial control systems (BMS/EPMS) utilize IP networks, Proven ability to work within a Tier III or IV data center environment, Familiarity with Data Center/Virtualization stacks, Familiarity with VMware, Familiarity with SAN/NAS connectivity, Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in high-demand and time-sensitive situations, Proficiency in administering VMware, Proficiency in administering Windows server environments, Proficiency in administering Linux server environments, Ability to participate in an on-call rotation to support 24/7/365 data center operations
Nice to Have
Knowledge of vSAN or similar software-defined storage is a plus, CCNA/CCNP (Routing & Switching / Data Center) is highly preferred

Title: Network Engineer (Critical Infrastructure) We are seeking a skilled and resilient Network Engineer to support EdgeConneX’ global enterprise infrastructure. This role is specifically designed for a networking professional who thrives in a mission-critical environment. You will be the primary point of contact for both local and remote sites' network health, focusing on our Cisco core, Building Management System (BMS) connectivity, and ensuring the absolute uptime required by our global customers. The ideal candidate is not just a "Cisco expert" but someone who understands that in a data center, the network is the heartbeat of the facility. You must be comfortable troubleshooting complex issues under pressure in high-risk environments where downtime is not an option. This position will report to EdgeConnex’ Sr. Director, Network Engineering and Systems and is based at our Dublin datacenter. This role follows a four-day-per-week onsite schedule.
