4+ years major internet routing protocols experience, 4+ years working in Linux/Unix environment, Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology, 4+ years network focused hands-on technical role, 4+ years experience with IP routing protocols/technologies, 4+ years experience designing and operating large-scale production networks, 4+ or more years experience with major routing protocols, 4+ or more years experience with Cisco and Juniper routing and switching hardware, Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and operate network solutions, Documentation skills with proven methodology, Experience building or enhancing tools, Experience refining operational procedures, 4+ years experience in technical on-call capacity, 1+ years experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming

The Operation Networking Engineering ONE- Core team builds next-generation LAN infrastructure that powers Amazon's global fulfillment and operations network. The team manages LAN reliability, availability and automation for over 2,700 sites worldwide, assisting Amazon Operations and Grocery businesses. We are seeking a Network Development Engineer II to design and implement horizontally scalable LAN architecture. You will work on initiatives that will help to automate the reliability work, improving the LAN availability and work on building automation for self remediation of network events across thousands of devices. Your work will directly impact the improvement of complete LAN infrastructure. The team is focused on automating networks from multiple diverse vendors, maximizing reliability while minimizing human touch in deployment and maintenance activities. We collaborate closely with IT support teams to ensure that simplicity in our product designs translate to supportability in the field. Information security rigor is at the core of everything we do. You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before.
