What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Minimum of two years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience, Knowledge of configuration, maintenance and support of IT infrastructure systems within a higher education environment, Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams while managing multiple, often competing priorities in a dynamic environment, Ability to use discretion and judgment in evaluating problems, communicating, recommending alternatives and solutions, and escalating issues via established support channels, Experience with device and network monitoring and diagnostic tools, Demonstrated proficiency in networking concepts (e.g., routing, firewalls, DNS/DHCP, VPN), Familiarity with information security principles and concepts, relevant tools and standards, Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor, Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, Effective written and verbal ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, Commitment to operational excellence, service reliability, documentation, and continuous improvement, Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
Nice to Have
Completion of Harvard IT Academy foundational course (or external equivalent), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar
What You'll Do.
and support network and IT infrastructure
Provide oversight for campuswide networked AV infrastructure
Design faculty lab networks
Build and configure network infrastructure
Maintain and troubleshoot complex systems
Monitor critical systems
Implement secure infrastructure solutions
Contribute to risk and vulnerability assessments
Drive remediation efforts
Consult on infrastructure best practices
Ensure alignment with Harvard University IT technical standards
and documentation of IT infrastructure
Provide stewardship on campus AV networking
Support IT infrastructure adhering to standards
Perform server room operations
Analyze and report on performance metrics
Oversee SEAS use of monitoring platforms
Implement and support robust IT solutions
Maintain awareness of emerging threats
Evaluate and mitigate risks of software and SaaS
Perform procedures to ensure information safety
Protect systems from access
Consult with internal and external stakeholders
Ensure design of Network IT and AV solutions meet needs
