U. S. Person required, Friday - Sunday 6:00am - 6:00pm work schedule, Must comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Programs Policy.
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
HS Diploma or equivalent, One year of relevant experience
Nice to Have
Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP experience is a plus, Non-Destructive testing (NDT) Level 2 certification, 1 year of related experience/education in various Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, Experience in aviation component repair preferred, In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations)
What You'll Do.
Performing Fluorescent Penetration Inspection (FPI) on aerospace case parts to identify defects.
Performing various Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods including FPI
Determining and verifying conformance to work instructions and repair scope.
Marking areas of the part not meeting criteria.
Cleaning and processing parts using FPI Booth.
Inspecting internal case structure using inspection equipment.
Preparing and completing required inspection documents (manual and electronic).
Reporting and stamping of work instructions to indicate acceptability of parts and completion of work scope.
Reviewing work instructions
repair operations requirements and blueprints.
Using inspection tools and fixtures.
Assisting Level III Quality Engineer (QE) in developing specific test techniques.
Complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Programs Policy.
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Collaborate with engineering, quality, quality lab, operations and materials or other personnel when needed as it relates to the inspection process.
