The University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant for our U Health Multi-Specialty Clinic at West Palm Beach. **CORE JOB SUMMARY** The Medical Assistant 2 will perform multi-skilled tasks to assist the medical providers. The Medical Assistant shall assist patients’ healthcare management and clinical procedures in a culturally competent manner utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service. The Medical Assistant provides hands-on care to patients while adhering to regulatory requirements, standards of care, and institutional policies and procedures, under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician. The physician in charge may delegate the tasks to oversee the Medical Assistant to a Nurse or Designee in charge of the unit/clinic. The Medical Assistant shall adhere to ethical and legal standards of professional practice, recognize, respond to emergencies, and demonstrate professionalism. The Medical Assistant provides care within the philosophy, mission, vision, and values, as well as within the policies and procedures of the Department of Nursing and the University of Miami. As a professional, monitors the quality of care provided and nurtures a compassionate and healing environment.
