Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies., Occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation., Frequently may be required to stretch, bend twist, squat or kneel in the daily operation of the MRI department., May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the day such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, being near moving equipment., Required to use radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation., Maintains knowledge of all MRI safety requirements for both staff and patients while in and around magnetic fields.

Must Have
Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology., Active enrollment in an MRI ARRT registry eligible or ARMRIT program required., MRI registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire., CPR certification required.

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development., Demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
What You'll Do.
Perform MRI procedures.
Operate MRI scanners and associated equipment.
Prepare and administer IV contrast.
Evaluate technical quality of images.
Perform basic patient care functions.
Assist physicians/PA during invasive procedures.
Maintain knowledge of MRI safety requirements.
Operate radiology computer system.
Maintain assigned work area.
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Consults with a Radiologist if needed.; Informs appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient’s condition.; Assists in “code blue” procedures during medical emergencies.; Assists Physicians/PA during invasive procedures.; Assists other medical personnel, such as anesthesia, when performing exams or services in conjunction with a MRI scan.
Communication Scope
Offer a brief explanation of the procedures to patients.; Contact ordering provider when there are discrepancies.; Informs appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient’s condition.
