Refer and question orders to the Radiologist before performing exam; Contact ordering provider when there are discrepancies; Recognizes abnormal anatomy and processes any additional, reconstructed images, and/or measurements as instructed

Eligibility Requirements

Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies, Occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation, Frequently may be required to stretch, bend twist, squat or kneel in the daily operation of the MRI department, May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the day such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, being near moving equipment, Required to use radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation, Maintain knowledge and skills required to work safely in an environment that can create significant exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease, Adheres to the hospital fire and safety procedures

What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology, Active enrollment in an MRI ARRT registry eligible or ARMRIT program, MRI registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire, CPR certification

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development., Demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.

What You'll Do.

Perform MRI scanning procedures

Operate MRI Scanners and associated equipment

Examine requests and verify orders

Identify and prepare patients for procedures

Interview patients and review EMRs for medical history

Administer IV contrast

Evaluate technical quality of images

Perform basic patient care functions

Maintain knowledge of MRI safety requirements

How You'll Work.

Team & Collaboration

Consult with a Radiologist; Contact ordering provider when there are discrepancies; Inform appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient’s condition; Assist in “code blue” procedures during medical emergencies; Assist Physicians/PA during invasive procedures; Assist other medical personnel, such as anesthesia, when performing exams or services in conjunction with a MRI scan

Communication Scope

Offer a brief explanation of the procedures to patients; Contact ordering provider when there are discrepancies; Inform appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient’s condition
