What They're Looking For.
Must Have
MRI Registry from an accredited organization (ARRT), or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association, Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Diagnostic Radiology
Nice to Have
Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute, State Licensure, Advanced MRI Registry (MR), 1 year of experience in MRI department in hospital setting, EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR), Picture archiving communication system (PACS)
What You'll Do.
Performs daily modality operations
Performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Works under direction of Radiologist
Works under direction of physicians
Contributes to training new employees
Contributes to onboarding new employees
Assists in supervision of MRI students
Completes assigned tasks
Operates magnetic resonance system
Applies magnetic resonance safety principles
Positions patient on MRI scanning cradle
Selects scan parameters
Performs IV injections
Administers magnetic contrast agents
Performs quality assurance tests
Maintains clinical competency
Explains procedure to patient
Prepares patient for procedure
Obtains patient history
Records patient consent
Screens patients for metal
Ensures patient comfort
Ensures patient privacy
Ensures patient safety
Monitors patient condition
Monitors medical equipment
Troubleshoots equipment during malfunction
Reports equipment malfunction
Participates in education of students
Participates in instruction of students
Participates in orientation of new staff
Participates in performance improvement
Assists department in achieving successful results
Selects appropriate pulse sequences
Maintains controlled access to magnet room
Maintains controlled access to Zone 2
Maintains controlled access to Zone 3
Maintains controlled access to Zone 4
Performs maintenance of QC
