This role will give you the flavour of the type of things you’ll be working on when you start — but it will likely evolve. We’re looking for a Motion Designer (Social Content). A creative skilled in animation, motion graphics, and short-to-mid-form video storytelling. This role focuses on creating high-quality video assets, animation sequences, transitions, visual effects, and narrative-driven content for Canva’s content library. This role creates the raw video and motion assets that power templates, storyboards, learning content, character packs, animated scenes, and more. Your work directly contributes to Canva’s video ecosystem, helping millions of users tell better stories through motion and moving visuals. At the moment, this role is focused on: * Design and animate video assets, motion graphics, transitions, characters, and storytelling elements * Create looping animations, expressive scenes, and narrative-driven sequences * Collaborate with template designers to ensure assets integrate seamlessly into user workflows * Work with product teams to understand new motion features and build assets that demonstrate them * Maintain high levels of craft while producing content at scalable volume * Participate in creative reviews, asset planning, and experimentation cy
