Must Have
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare IT, or equivalent experience, 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise mobile devices (iOS and/or Android) in a healthcare or regulated environment, Hands-on experience with mobile device management (MDM/UEM) platforms, Familiarity with clinical workflows and the impact of mobile technology on patient care, troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, networking, and application layers
Nice to Have
Prior work in a hospital or large health system environment, Experience supporting clinical device models and high-volume frontline users, Understanding of barcode scanning, secure messaging, and clinical communication tools
What You'll Do.
Sustaining MedStar Health’s existing mobile device infrastructure
Supporting the organization’s transition to Epic mobile applications
Maintain and support MedStar’s existing fleet of clinical mobile devices (iOS and Android)
ensuring high availability for patient‑care workflows
Support day‑to‑day device management activities including provisioning
Leverage enterprise MDM platforms (Workspace ONE
Intune) to enforce security
and configuration standards
Serve as a technical escalation point for clinicians
and support desks on mobile‑related incidents and workflow disruptions
Assist with clinician education and adoption by supporting device usability
configuration consistency
and at‑the‑elbow troubleshooting when needed
Collaborate with site leadership during go‑lives
and device refresh cycles to minimize clinical disruption
Follow established change management and validation processes for mobile devices and applications
Document device standards
and operational workflows
Identify trends in device incidents

Participate in cross‑functional workstreams related to Epic

Full Job Description
The Mobile Device Specialist is responsible for sustaining MedStar Health’s existing mobile device infrastructure while supporting the organization’s transition to Epic mobile applications. This role focuses on operational stability, device lifecycle management, and frontline support during a period of significant clinical and technical change. The specialist works closely with Clinical Informatics, Oracle Health app analysts, nursing leadership, and End User Technology teams to ensure mobile devices remain reliable, secure, and usable throughout the Epic transition, while continuing to meet current clinical, operational, and regulatory needs. Key Responsibilities: Operational Sustainment (Primary Focus): Maintain and support MedStar’s existing fleet of clinical mobile devices (iOS and Android), ensuring high availability for patient‑care workflows. Support day‑to‑day device management activities including provisioning, configuration, patching, troubleshooting, repair coordination, and decommissioning. Leverage enterprise MDM platforms (Workspace ONE, Intune) to enforce security, compliance, and configuration standards. Clinical & Frontline Support: Serve as a technical escalation point for clinicians, nurse informaticists, and support desks on mobile‑related incidents and workflow disruptions. Assist with clinician education and adoption by supporting device usability, configuration consistency, and at‑the‑elbow troubleshooting when needed. Collaborate with site leadership during go‑lives, upgrades, and device refresh cycles to minimize clinical disruption. Governance, Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Follow established change management and validation processes for mobile devices and applications. Document device standards, support procedures, known issues, and operational workflows.
