Full Job Description

## Description MIG Welder Location: Newport News, VA Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift Pay Rate: Starting at $18.00/hour (higher compensation available based on experience and skill level) Position Overview A Precision Mig Welder will Fit and Weld sheet metal parts to the specifications of each job and ensure they meet the outlined requirements.  Specifications are gathered from work orders, customer drawings, sample parts, and/or completed assemblies.   ## Essential Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on sheet metal components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions Fit, align, clamp, and secure fabricated parts using fixtures, jigs, and hand tools Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, work instructions, and fabrication drawings Inspect weld quality using measuring tools, gauges, calipers, and templates Weld and fabricate components using materials such as steel, aluminum, and various alloys Complete related fabrication tasks including tack welding, grinding, assembly work, and heat bending Determine proper welding methods and settings based on material type and production requirements Maintain welding equipment and perform routine upkeep or basic troubleshooting when needed Meet production schedules while maintaining workmanship and quality standards Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area ## Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting Experience welding light gauge sheet metal ranging from .060” to 1/4” thickness Ability to read technical drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a production team ## Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 100 lbs as needed Capable of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and performing repetitive motions throughout the shift Comfortable working in
