## Description MIG Welder Location: Newport News, VA Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift Pay Rate: Starts at $18.00 per hour; higher wages may be offered based on specific skills and experience Position Overview We are seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on fitting and welding sheet metal components based on detailed specifications, ensuring quality and accuracy in every build. ## Key Responsibilities Perform MIG welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions Fit and assemble sheet metal components using clamps and fixtures Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and welding symbols Inspect and measure finished work using calipers, templates, and other tools Weld various materials including steel, aluminum, and alloys Perform tack welding, grinding, heat bending, and assembly as needed Determine appropriate welding techniques for each job Maintain equipment and perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance Work efficiently to meet production goals and deadlines Follow all safety procedures and company standards ## Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of MIG welding experience Experience working with light gauge sheet metal (.060” to 1/4” thickness required) Ability to read and understand blueprints and welding symbols Strong attention to detail and quality standards Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors ## Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 100 lbs Capable of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and performing repetitive movements Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions within a plant environment
