S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience in lieu of a degree, 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or field environment, Demonstrated experience developing advanced metrology/inspection techniques, communication skills, including presenting technical information to broad audiences, Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings and apply GD&T, Working knowledge of standard machining and fabrication processes, Experience programming metrology and/or manufacturing equipment, CAD design experience, CMM programming experience (ZEISS Calypso preferred), Experience using portable metrology equipment (e.g., Creaform, laser tracker, CMM arm), CAD design experience (Siemens NX preferred), Working knowledge of quality systems fundamentals, Comfort using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) or similar collaboration platforms, Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, Perform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time, Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics, Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally

PolyWorks Inspector experience, Hands-on experience with a range of metrology equipment and measurement approaches, Experience creating and implementing procedures, work instructions, and training materials, Familiarity with statistical quality tools (e.g., gage R&R, DOE), Quality experience in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, medical), Working knowledge of ERP and MES systems, Experience working as a field metrologist or supporting on-site measurements
What You'll Do.
Develop and refine advanced mechanical inspection techniques to solve complex measurement challenges
Qualify and document inspection methods in partnership with Quality Engineering (procedures
and evidence of capability)
Collaborate daily with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to support production readiness and rapid issue resolution
Support evaluation and selection of new metrology equipment and technologies
and implementation planning
Maintain metrology equipment and execute 5S and calibration/verification activities as applicable
Provide design-for-inspection input during drawing release
and development of inspection standards
Cross-train as a Quality Technician and perform routine inspections as needed to support throughput
and present critical dimensional inspection results to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Design and procure inspection fixturing and tooling to enable accurate
repeatable measurements

Join the power movement as a Metrology Engineer CFS is seeking a motivated Metrology Engineer to develop, validate, and deploy inspection methods for highly engineered hardware supporting the SPARC project. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with complex parts and advanced measurement systems, partnering closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality, and R&D to ensure hardware meets demanding performance and reliability requirements. You’ll thrive here if you enjoy solving ambiguous measurement problems, communicating clearly across disciplines, and building repeatable processes that scale. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership—from defining inspection strategy and tooling, to documenting methods and presenting results—while continuously improving how metrology supports production and engineering teams.
