Shift 1 (United States of America) As a Metal Working Operator, you’ll support day-to-day manufacturing at Coperion, a Hillenbrand company, by helping produce high-quality metal components that keep our operations running safely and reliably. You’ll be based in Sabetha, Kansas, where we design and manufacture equipment and systems used to handle, process, and move materials across industrial markets. This role offers a strong entry point into metalworking and manufacturing, with hands-on learning, steady work, and opportunities to grow your skills over time. Your contributions will help maintain production flow and support long-term operational excellence. **Location:** Sabetha, Kansas **Shift:** 1st shift (4:00 a.m., 5:00 a.m., or 6:00 a.m. start times) **Schedule:** 45-hour work week **WHAT YOU’LL DO:** * Perform CNC and manual metal fabrication to blueprint specifications or cut lists, including layout, rolling, cutting, shearing, drilling, braking, and punching, to produce quality parts. * Set up and operate basic machine tools while following standard work instructions and safety requirements. * Inspect completed work using gauges, jigs, and fixtures to ensure parts meet defined tolerances. * Complete routine equipment and workstation maintenance to support safe, clean, and organized operations. * Receive, unload, and stock raw steel materials while maintaining accurate inventory. * Sort, kit, and assemble parts to support work orders and production schedules. * Follow guidance from more experienced team members while building foundational metalworking skills. **TEAM:** * You’ll work alongside experienced operators, machinists, and production teammates who support one another through clear communication, shared standards, and mutual respect. **THE EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED:** * High school diploma or equivalent. * Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in fabrication and measurement. * Ability to read and follow blueprints, drawi
