Full Job Description
## Description Miscellaneous Metals Fabricator Location: Richmond, VA Schedule: Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM Overtime and occasional Saturday work may be required. Pay Rate: Starting at $22.00/hour Compensation may increase based on experience and welding/fabrication background. Role Overview This position is responsible for fabricating and assembling a variety of metal components such as rail systems, stair assemblies, ladders, and other miscellaneous steel items. The role requires strong blueprint comprehension, hands-on fabrication ability, and the flexibility to work efficiently in a production-oriented environment with changing priorities. ## Key Responsibilities Fabrication & Assembly Fabricate and assemble metal products such as rail systems, stair assemblies, ladders, platforms, and other custom steel components Interpret fabrication drawings, shop plans, specifications, and work orders to ensure accurate production Perform layout, measuring, cutting, fitting, welding, and finishing operations according to project requirements Verify dimensions, fit-up quality, and overall workmanship throughout the fabrication process Maintain high standards of craftsmanship while meeting production schedules and deadlines Equipment Operation Operate fabrication machinery and shop equipment including: Saws Shears Press brakes Welding equipment Utilize hand tools, measuring instruments, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively Follow all equipment operating procedures and safety guidelines Quality & Production Support Inspect completed assemblies to verify compliance with drawings and quality standards Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineering personnel, and fabrication team members to ensure project success Identify fabrication challenges and contribute practical solutions to improve efficiency and quality Adapt to changing priorities and production schedules while maintaining accuracy and productivity Assist with multiple projects as neede
