What You'll Do.

Observes assigned patient
maintaining a direct line of vision to the patient at all times and communicates unusual occurrences immediately to the nurse responsible for the patient
Assists with maintaining a safe and hazard free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior
conducting patient room searches
reporting unsafe conditions
implementing safety interventions and applying appropriate emotional support.
Documents patient care activities
Provides appropriate interventions immediately if the patient is attempting to participate in an unsafe activity e. g. climbing out of bed
attempting to ambulate without assistance
pulling at lines or tubes
displaying aggressive and seeks assistance as necessary
Changes bed linens tidies room and empties trash as needed
Provides direct patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse
Maintains clean and orderly utility rooms

This position works in conjunction with the Registered Nurse assigned to the patient. **Responsibilities** * Observes assigned patient, maintaining a direct line of vision to the patient at all times and communicates unusual occurrences immediately to the nurse responsible for the patient * Assists with maintaining a safe and hazard free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting patient room searches, reporting unsafe conditions, implementing safety interventions and applying appropriate emotional support. * Orients the patient and patient's family to the facility and the policies and procedures Documents patient care activities * Provides appropriate interventions immediately if the patient is attempting to participate in an unsafe activity e.g. climbing out of bed, attempting to ambulate without assistance, pulling at lines or tubes, displaying aggressive behavior; and seeks assistance as necessary * Changes bed linens tidies room and empties trash as needed * Provides direct patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse * Maintains clean and orderly utility rooms **Requirements** * High School Diploma * Current BLS Certification * Current Washington State Certified Nurse Assistant license req
