High School diploma or GED equivalent, attendance record, excellent interpersonal communication skills, able to work hours outside of the regular shift, good mechanical aptitude, able to wear a respirator, ascending, descending stairs, standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, twisting, overhead reach, and lifting up to 25 pounds
What You'll Do.
Perform a variety of tasks to maintain all sections of furnace melting systems.
Work from written and oral instructions with assistance to perform teardown
rebuild and maintenance of crucible
Tear down and evaluate for necessary repairs or replacement of parts.
Use arc welder or gas torch to make repairs such as brazing coils and welding support members.
Repair or replace cracked or damaged refractory.
making sure coil assembly is isolated from crucible with sufficient ram filler.
and necessary adjustments on coil units
where condition of units is such that simple problems may be solved to make the set-up and complete the unit.
From time to time perform other duties not associated with melting systems that are required to maintain overall shop appearance and work flow
May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed
within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills
Adhere to ACE guidelines and perform ACE duties as required
Adhere to all EH & S guidelines
including wearing of required personal protective equipment.
