What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required, Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Nice to Have
College-level understanding of biology and anatomy and physiology, Prior high school-level teaching experience strongly preferred, Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills, project management skills with proven attention to detail, Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands, Open-minded and adaptable, Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, Embraces opportunities to learn and grow in the role and contribute to growth of mission-driven organization, Experience in a patient-facing healthcare profession is a plus, Experience in or open to training on the following lab techniques: ELISA, PCR, gel electrophoresis, Ability to teach in Spanish preferred
What You'll Do.
Delivers interactive lectures
Collaborates with the MEDscience team to deliver semester-long and module programming
Instruct students in medical skills
and scientific literacy
Coordinates the programming for at least 20 partnering high school classroom teachers
Coordinates within the MEDscience teaching team
Provides support and training as needed to partnering high school teachers
Supervises student survey administration
Trains newly hired teachers and volunteers on the curriculum
Assists in refining written materials for pedagogy evaluation
and other documents needed for program expansion
Works with the teaching team to develop and support curricular innovation and cultural competency in the classroom
