Full Job Description
Medical Optometrist – Oakland Ophthalmic Surgery Locations: Birmingham & Troy, MI Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Oakland Ophthalmic Surgery, a respected and well-established ophthalmology practice with offices in Birmingham and Troy, Michigan, is seeking a Medical Optometrist to join our growing team. Our group currently includes three ophthalmologists and two optometrists, and we are expanding to meet the increasing demand for comprehensive eye care. Position Overview We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Optometrist—ideally residency-trained or with prior medical optometry experience—to provide a broad range of clinical services across both our Birmingham and Troy offices. You will manage diverse cases including glaucoma, dry eye disease, and primary eye care, while also performing comprehensive eye exams, post-operative care, and contact lens fittings. You’ll work independently managing a minimum of 10 patients per half-day (approximately 20 per day) . Practice Highlights Collaborative, doctor-led environment with a strong focus on clinical excellence and patient-centered care. Well-established referral base and growing patient volume. On-site optical and full suite of diagnostic equipment, including visual fields, OCT, fundus camera, OPD, and handheld tonometry. Interest in Dry Eye management is highly desirable.
