Graduate of accredited medical laboratory technology program, Registered with College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario, Minimum two years recent chemistry experience, Minimum two years recent hematology experience, Minimum two years recent transfusion medicine experience
Nice to Have
Demonstrate successful completion of all relevant education/refresher courses within the past two years
What You'll Do.
Check unverified laboratory results for accuracy
Investigate unexpected abnormal results
Investigate spurious results
Perform operation of laboratory analyzers
Perform maintenance of laboratory analyzers
Perform calibration of laboratory analyzers
Monitor quality control results
Respond to discordant results
Ensure specimen collection is appropriate
Ensure specimen integrity is appropriate
Ensure specimen transport is appropriate
Ensure specimen storage is appropriate
Refer discordant findings to appropriate personnel
Assist at bone marrow check specimen
Process in-house test requests
Process send-out test requests
Monitor temperature of blood products
Monitor expiry dates of blood products
Discard outdated products
Discard compromised products
Check operating room list
Issue blood component products
Participate in Laboratory quality management system
Participate in process improvements
Perform other procedures as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned
