MEDICAL DIRECTOR Location: Seattle, WA (hybrid) Type: Full-time Compensation: $180k-200k, plus competitive equity package ABOUT US Prevention works. It just doesn't scale. We're changing that. Modern healthcare is built to react. Acute care handles emergencies; primary care manages conditions. But the system tends to activate too late - by the time something surfaces, the window to act early has often already closed. Preemptive is building the missing layer beneath that system: a continuous, human-guided view of how the body is changing, so care can happen before symptoms become emergencies. We turn the camera on an ordinary smartphone into a sensor that reads subtle signals from the body, build a living baseline for each patient, and pair that signal with a dedicated nurse who knows their story. Technology detects the drift; people decide what it means. And when a baseline shifts, we don't send an alert - we call with a plan. Today this comes to life through a virtual clinic serving Medicare patients. But the clinic is just the beginning. It's how we deliver care now and how we build toward something larger: a new layer of intelligence beneath healthcare that finally makes prevention scalable. We were incubated at the Allen Institute for AI (AI2) and are backed by leading investors who believe care should move before disease does. THE ROLE This is not a traditional Medical Director role - and not even a traditional digital-health one. We're looking for a physician-leader who can operate like a founder: strategic, hands-on, and energized by building a new model of care, and a new evidence base, from the ground up. You will own the clinical strategy, operating model, and standard of care for our virtual clinic. In the early days, that means getting deep into the work: building workflows, supervising the clinical team, reviewing care processes, and seeing patients when needed.
