Full Job Description
Clinical Care Delivery provides high quality, patient-centered care focused on diagnosing, treating and managing care while ensuring the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the practice. The Medical Assistant performs clinical support services, assists with clerical duties and maintains patient care documentation in medical records. This position is responsible for providing professional care specifically to Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology patients in an outpatient setting. _**Responsibilities:**_ * Register new patients. * Assist during medical procedures. * Take vital signs. * Schedule external labs, diagnostic and other follow-up for patients. * Request and obtain necessary clinical documents for the patient’s chart. * Update medical records. * Organize examination rooms. * Sterilize / prepare medical instruments. * Disposal of contaminated supplies. * Follow up on patient calls. * Schedule appointments. * Coordinate dictation schedule. * May assist with verifying health insurance coverage, and other clerical duties. * Regular attendance and punctuality. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. * Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved. * Perform any other functions as required by management. _**Qualifications:**_ * High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience, preferred * Certified or eligible for certification as a Medical Assistant in the state of employment or completion of a Medical Assistant program * Current CPR certification. * Must be willing to travel between our Southern San Diego Clinics * 2+ years experience in a Medical Assistant role, preferred **Primary Location:** [cCARE Cancer Center: La Jolla](https://ccare.com/locations/la-jolla/%22%22) 9850 Genesee Avenue Suite 560 La Jolla, CA 92037 **Anticipated hourly range:** $23.00 per hour - $30.20 per hour **Bonus eligible:** No **Benefits:** Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to supp
