Must Have

Graduate of Medical Assistant Training Program or 6-months recent Medical Assistant experience, Current TO approved BLS provider card required within 3 months of hire

Nice to Have

Medical Assistant Certification preferred (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA)

What You'll Do.

Measure patient height / weight and vital signs

Screen for and document pain

Complete “rooming” process

Escort patient to exam room

Review/verify medication lists and preferred pharmacy information

Enter/update medication information in EMR

Review/verify patient allergies and update in EMR

Review health histories and update in EMR

Complete all required screening questionnaires and enter data

Prepare patients for examination and/or treatment

Turn over rooms/chairs

Review need for prescriptions/refills

Manage prescription refill extension requests

Call in prescriptions/refills

Call patients with lab results and verbatim instructions

Assist with telephone triage

Screen incoming calls/messages

Assist with provider performed procedures/exams

Assist in the treatment room

Assist with nursing evaluations

Prepare and administer approved medications

Assist with daily/weekly/monthly activities

Access and flush implanted ports

Collect laboratory specimens

Assist with patient education

Verify accuracy of appointments

Schedule appointments

Assist with completing forms for patients

Assist with insurance prior authorizations

Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment

Inform direct supervisor of clinic needs and concerns

Participate on committees

Attend all mandatory in-services and meetings

Complete all required/assigned training

Complete continuing education

Complete competency validations
